How to install (SSR) simplescreenrecorder on Fedora
Simple screen recorder (SSR) is the best screen recorder ever that I use. Usually, I use this software for recording a tutorial / guide for my youtube channel . Since I migrate my main OS to fedora, I don’t find SSR on official either unofficial fedora repository (copr, etc). Maybe this issue on GitHub can explain that (SSR Issue #458). So now, the another way to get SSR on my fedora workstation is to find another unofficial repo or compile it by yourself. But, I don’t want compile it because will take a long time and need more software / lib to install on my computer.
And finally I found a simple solution to get SSR without compiling manually, someone leaves a comment on GitHub issue to get SSR from Russian fedora repository.
Add Rusian Repository
After adding Russian repository you can install ssr using dnf
Good luck, you get ssr on your fedora workstation
Or Download it manually
So, in my case I don’t want to add Russian fedora repository, so I visit the repository URL and download packages (*.rpm) that I needed.
- Follow this link :
- Hit Ctrl+F on your browser to find
- And type simplescreenrecorder
- You need to download at least 2 packages, simplescreenrecorder and simplescreenrecorder-lib
- In my case, i use 64bit OS, so i download with *.x86_64.rp packages only
- After all packages downloaded, run dnf to install it manualy
- Done
